🗓️ April 11th | #WorldParkinsonsDay
Today, we join millions around the world in observing World Parkinson’s Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness, challenging stigma, and standing in solidarity with those affected by Parkinson’s Disease (PD).
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, muscle control, and balance. It is caused by the loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the brain. While the condition progresses differently for everyone, common symptoms include tremors, stiffness, slowness of movement, and difficulties with balance and coordination.
But Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect the body — it affects minds, families, relationships, and routines. That’s why days like today are so important.
It brings visibility to the 7–10 million people living with the condition globally.
It reminds us of the importance of early diagnosis, ongoing support, and access to treatment.
It challenges misconceptions and promotes compassionate care and inclusion.
It pushes the world to support research for better therapies — and one day, a cure.
At The Human Garage, we are privileged to walk alongside individuals like Nduta, one of our inspiring patients living with Parkinson’s. Her strength, courage, and resilience remind us daily that life with Parkinson’s is not a story of limitation, but of adaptation and endurance.
Today, we recommit ourselves to: ✅ Listening to and uplifting the voices of those living with PD
✅ Providing supportive care that promotes quality of life
✅ Advocating for a future where no one faces Parkinson’s alone
Educate yourself and others about Parkinson’s
Offer patience and compassion to someone living with the condition
Donate or support research organizations
Simply be there — a kind word or helping hand goes a long way
This World Parkinson’s Day, let’s replace fear with understanding, and isolation with community. Let’s work toward a world where every person with Parkinson’s feels seen, supported, and empowered to live fully.
🧠💙 Together, we move for a better tomorrow.
